本季从夏季结束后的新学期开始说起，由七位主角组成的学习小组再次面临选课问题，要找一门大家都能上的课并非易事，Jeff（乔尔·麦克哈尔 Joel McHale 饰）煞费苦心，为大家争取“冰淇淋史”课，这举动看似热心，实则出于想提前毕业的私心。“毕业”意味着学习小组的解散，众人纷纷对Jeff感到失望。Abed（丹尼·朴迪 Danny Pudi 饰）对此尤其不能接受，他又一次进入自己的幻想世界。
