雷小凤（汪明荃 饰）是公司总裁的秘书，掌管着公司里大大小小的各类事务，她个性强硬为人又果断，因此总是给人“女王”的强势印象，大家表面上对她敬畏有加，但背地里其实很不服气。
某日，宣传部来了新任经理缪惜之（何韵诗 饰），雷小凤奉命为其面试秘书。面试途中，雷小凤结识了名为施拾壹（杜汶泽 饰）的单身爸爸，施拾壹的能力和个性都远远未能达到雷小凤在心中设定的合格线，然而缪惜之竟然不顾她的反对，将其录用，而缪惜之的真实身份，竟然就是雷小凤失散多年的女儿。然而，重逢并没有带给这对母女什么温馨的桥段，正相反，缪惜之的心中充满了对母亲的怨怼和责问。。World War I is coming to its end.
