在第8季的结尾，主角一行进入了一个未知世界——童话之地！RWBY小队开始探索这个奇异且神秘的地方，她们很快发现这个地方并非如她们想象那般美好。她们将经历一些艰难的挑战——对自我的坚守或找寻，以及是否仍有能力阻止Salem。。一名初中少年（仙波成明饰）忙于逃避同学欺负，他背上负着一根醒目的电线杆，他们肆意地玩弄电线杆。这时一名叫小桃（叶冈伸饰）的剑道少女出手相救，原来她也是他心仪的女同学。之后少年献出怀里抱着的东西，竟是一台时光机器。
